The Mother Ganga is the holiest river in Bharata now India. The river Ganga is in Sanatan dharma (Eternal Religion) worshiped as a Goddess evidence of the worship of Ganga can be found in the earliest of the sacred Sanatan dharma scriptures the Rig - Veda.
Sanatan dharma’s followers believe that bathing in the Ganges remove all your sins and frees you from the unending cycle of Life and Death. Millions of Sanatan Dharma followers come to the banks of Mother Ganges to have a bath . Sanatan Dharma also immerse the ashes of their relatives in the Ganga as it is said the doing so frees them from the cycle of life and death and they attain Mokshya.
The Aarti in praise of Mother Ganges is very popular in Sanatan Dharma. It is recited on Haridwar, Varanasi and other places of Pilgrimage on the banks of the Ganga.
